How it works
Tell us what needs to move
Bring both machines in (or just the new one if we're pulling from a backup). We'll assess scope and quote upfront.
We transfer everything
Files, accounts, settings, bookmarks — we go through it systematically so nothing gets missed.
You verify
We walk through the new machine with you to confirm everything is where you expect it.
Old machine cleanup (optional)
If you want the old machine wiped, we handle that securely before you leave.
Common questions
Do I need to bring both computers?
Ideally yes, but we can also work from a backup if you have one. Call us and we'll figure out the best approach.
Can you transfer from a Mac to a PC?
Yes — we handle cross-platform migrations for files and documents. Some apps won't transfer (Mac-only software) but we'll advise on Windows equivalents.
What about my email?
We'll configure your email accounts on the new machine — Gmail, Outlook, whatever you use.
Will all my apps be there?
Most apps need to be reinstalled (licensing reasons), but we reinstall and configure them on the new machine and restore your settings where possible.
Is this available for businesses?
Yes — we handle both personal and business migrations, including multiple machines and Microsoft 365 environments.
Free advice — try this first
Before you book, try this
For straightforward file moves, you usually don't need professional help. The cases worth paying for are the ones with hidden complexity.
- For just files, a USB drive is the simplest path — External SSDs are $80-150 and copy a typical user's data in 30-60 minutes. Copy your Documents, Pictures, Desktop, and Downloads — then paste them onto the new PC. For a Windows-to-Windows move, this covers most people.
- For cloud-synced files, just sign back in — If your files are in OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox, install the app on the new PC and sign in. The files sync down automatically. No manual copying needed.
- The hard part isn't files — it's the surrounding stuff — Where data migration gets tricky: software licenses tied to your old machine, browser profiles with hundreds of saved sessions, email archives in legacy formats, QuickBooks company files, custom configurations. If your migration involves any of those, that's when we earn our fee.
If that doesn't fix it, that's what we're here for. The $24.99 diagnostic still applies — no fix, no charge.
